Who we are
Cyber Carrom is made by Carrom Club Studio ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@cybercarrom.com for anything in this policy.
What we collect, and why
| What | Why and how |
|---|---|
| Kept on your phone | Settings, coins, XP, unlocked strikers, your avatar and display name, and best scores are stored on your device only. Replay videos you create are made on your device and only leave it if you choose to share them. Uninstalling the app removes all of this. |
| Anonymous player ID | To play online, the app signs you in anonymously through Unity Gaming Services, which gives your device a random player ID. It is not linked to your name, email or phone number. We use it to tell players apart and to check that a match result is genuine. |
| Ranked Quick Play | Quick Play connects to a game server we run. It receives your player ID (checked with Unity), your display name (up to 5 characters), your avatar and colour, your device's IP address (needed to connect, and it is not stored in the league), the shots you take, and the result. The connection is encrypted. |
| League record | When a ranked match ends we save the result to a database: your player ID, display name, avatar, league points and the time. Weekly finishes are kept as a permanent career record. |
| Friend matches | A short-lived join code and a relay connection from Unity Gaming Services connect you and your friend. Nothing from the match is kept afterwards. There is no chat or voice. |
| Usage analytics (optional) | Only if you allow them in Data & Privacy. We record which modes, powers, shop and replay features are used, how long Quick Play took to find an opponent and whether it succeeded, and the app version, plus the standard technical details Unity's analytics service records (such as device type and operating system). We never record friend codes, contacts, messages or your videos. |
| Our website | The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps ordinary server logs (such as IP address and browser). The league page loads standings from our league service, which also sees your IP address. Pages load fonts from Google Fonts, so Google sees your IP address too. We set no cookies and use no tracking or advertising tools on the site. |
What is public
The weekly league table, at cybercarrom.com/league and in the app, shows each ranked player's display name, avatar, league points and rank. While you are connected to ranked play, a live list (display name, avatar, and whether you are waiting or in a match) is also available for up to a minute. Player IDs are not listed, but the league page can look a player up by their ID.
Please choose a display name that does not identify you or anyone else.
Ads and purchases
This version of Cyber Carrom shows no ads and has no in-app purchases. The app includes software libraries for possible future ads and purchases, but they are switched off and collect nothing. The Android app lists an advertising-ID permission because of one of them; it is not used. If we ever turn ads or purchases on, we will update this policy first and ask for any consent that is needed.
Who handles data for us
- Unity Technologies: anonymous sign-in, friend-match relay, and optional analytics.
- Neon: the league database, hosted in Frankfurt, Germany (Amazon Web Services).
- Vercel: hosts this website.
- Our game-server host: the server that runs ranked matches. It keeps operational logs (display names and connection events) only as long as we need them to run and secure the service.
- Apple and Google: they distribute the app under their own privacy terms.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it to show you ads. Some of these companies process data outside your country; where that happens we rely on their standard legal safeguards.
Why we are allowed to use it (UK and EU)
- To provide online play: the player ID, display name, avatar and results are needed to run matches and the league.
- To keep the league fair: we verify identities and check results to prevent cheating (our legitimate interest).
- Analytics: only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
How long we keep it
- On-device data stays until you uninstall the app.
- League records are kept while the league runs, and weekly finishes are kept as a career record, unless you ask us to delete them.
- The live "online now" list disappears within about a minute.
- Analytics are kept by Unity according to its own retention rules; you can request deletion in the app (below).
Your choices and rights
- Turn analytics on or off, or delete your analytics data: in the app, open Data & Privacy and choose Keep analytics off or Delete my analytics data.
- Play without sending anything online: the offline modes (Classic vs computer, Practice, Daily Challenge) do not use the network.
- See, correct or delete your league record, or object to how we use it: email us with your display name and roughly when you played, and we will find and remove or anonymise your record. We may ask for a little more detail to be sure it is yours.
- If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
Children
Cyber Carrom is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
Security
Ranked connections are encrypted, admin keys stay on our servers and are never in the app, and result submission is restricted so a player's device cannot award itself points. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for anything significant, tell players in the app.
